Armed With Strength

Each Saturday as I prepare for worship and fellowship on Sunday, I ask God to open my heart to a verse – something that will help me focus on Him through the day.

Today’s verses are Psalm 65:5,6:

You answer us with awesome deeds in righteousness, O God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength…

One of the best parts of going to church on Sundays is the time we spend praying for each other.  Each week there is an opportunity for our little group to share openly what’s going on in our lives, and to praise God for the answers to prayer we saw in the past week.  There is reality in that – closeness and fellowship as we carry each other’s burdens.

Strong oneness comes through seeking God together and seeing His character revealed through answers to prayer.  In these verses He is our Answer, our Helper, our God and Savior, our Hope, our Creator, and our Strong Warrior.

What a mighty God we serve!  I look forward to Sunday mornings!  It’s a chance to discover His work and enjoy Him together.  May you be keenly aware of His mighty power and good work as you seek Him this weekend.  Share it with someone if God gives you the opportunity.

  1. Are those your photographs? I love the one with the birch tree on the right. The colors are stunning- basically all my favorite colors combined.
