The Room Stands Still

Yesterday I had my 27 week visit with the midwife.  Riley and I went together, and as I relaxed on the table, he nestled in the crook of my arm with Bunny.  Our wonderful midwife used the heartbeat monitor first, and the sound was incredible.

For a moment, there was no sterile white room, anxiety about delivery, question about the sugar test, or any such thing.  Only the vision of two baby boys playing together on the floor, wrestling, getting muddy, growing up tall together…

Riley turned toward the sound of his brother’s strong heartbeat.

I am thankful that the baby’s doing well.  That God planned this whole thing out.  And soon we get to meet Brother, learn his personality, and enjoy the boy.
