Ever have one of those days – or weeks – when your body just lets you down?
It can be so frustrating to have all the willpower and get-up-and-go of your normal self, but be stuck in the middle of postpartum, or surgery recovery, or Lyme’s Disease, or arthritis, or … fill in the blank.
I was really encouraged by these verses this morning:
The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
I Corinthians 15:42-44
God certainly gives us all kinds of help on a daily basis, here and now. So think about this: the Lord who gives us strength to “rise up on wings like eagles” here and now is already preparing a glorious home for us in heaven, and will give us bodies to match, able to enjoy Him and his paradise forever.
Somehow that knowledge alone – if I let it – gives me strength to get up and get going.
