A Breath of Fresh Air

It’s been a wonderful Indian Summer.  Is that politically correct?  Oh well.  If they ever change it to make it more PC, I may jump off a bridge.

Every day the boys and I have been outside, tossing sand around, oohing and aahhing over airplanes and clouds, pushing the tire swing back and forth, puttering around in the remaining garden life, and just running for the fun of it.

I don’t know what your weather is like right now, but ours has been GLORIOUS

And that is what I’m thankful for today.  I wasn’t ready to let go of summer yet, and here we are in mid-October wearing capris and short sleeves, getting dirty and sweaty still.

Soon enough, winter will take over and we’ll be bound indoors.

For today, we soak up every ray of sunshine and load up on Vitamin D, God’s way.

(And now it’s raining… but we needed that too.)

  1. Our weather is HORRIBLE. 100º the last few days. We had two cold rainy days just to tease us, and now summer is back in full force. Hot, blindingly sunny days are my equivalent of cold, dark days. We’re stuck inside with no energy to do anything. Sigh…..

    • Oh bummer! I get so wrapped in what’s happening here, I forget that it’s blazing hot where you live. Wow! When do you think it will cool off? Do you get four seasons or not much change? I’m waiting for the dramatic New England drop any time.

      • From July through the end of Sept it’s usually HOT and DRY. The rest of the year could be any of the four seasons on any given day. We’ve had the a/c running for Christmas and snowstorms (which are very rare for us) for Easter. It’s supposed to start cooling back down to 70s here and through the fall we get Santa Anas, which are strong dry winds off the desert. Oh well, we have tickets booked for New England for Christmas this year!
